About MediaLab
MediaLab is a multimedia services agency housed within Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. The organization serves clients on projects related to graphic design, photography, videography, advertising, marketing, public relations and more. In addition to those activities, another major focus of MediaLab is production of documentary films on a variety of social and public policy topics. Since its founding, MediaLab has produced nearly a dozen films including projects that have garnered three Emmy Award nominations, two first-place National Broadcasting Society Awards, three Broadcast Education Association Honorable Mentions, one Society of Professional Journalist Mark of Excellence Award, and many other recognitions.

Olivia Ash, Chief Videographer
Olivia Ash is a Public Relations Associate in MediaLab. Pursuing a double major in Communication and Hispanic Studies and a minor in Global Studies, Olivia is the project leader of "Waste Not". As team leader, Olivia is responsible for videography, editing, planning, and strategy. In addition to being chief videographer, Olivia is also going to be the narrator of Waste Not: Breaking Down the Food Equation.

Amanda Brasgalla, Senior Producer
Amanda Brasgalla is the General Manager of MediaLab. She is a fourth-year Communication major with an emphasis in Conflict Management and Global Peacebuilding. Her minors are in German and Business. Prior to assuming leadership of MediaLab and joining the “Waste Not” team, Amanda led recruitment for the organization and assisted with client relations. Amanda’s duties on Waste Not include research, photography, and videography.

She has previously worked on projects for MediaLab clients Cascade Regional Blood Services and the Intel Computer Clubhouse of Tacoma. Taylor is a Communication major with a concentration in Public Relations/Advertising and a minor in Writing. Taylor assists with videography and manages the website, blog and social media accounts for Waste Not: Breaking Down the
Food Equation.

Prior to MediaLab, Evan was the Multimedia Editor for MastTV, PLU's own television station. Evan is passionate about video and loves telling visual stories. Evan is assisting in post-production of Waste Not and completing the final product.

In addition to being the Visual Team Leader, Taylor has designed and created many pieces for an array of MediaLab clients. Taylor is branding "Waste Not", and creating all the graphics featured in the film.

Robert Marshall Wells, Ph.D., Executive Producer and Senior Adviser
Robert Marshall Wells has worked in print, broadcast and online journalism, public relations, marketing and communication consulting for more than 20 years. As MediaLab’s faculty adviser, Dr. Wells has served as the chief architect of the organization's growth and award–winning activities.
